Dorthy Rae Scott

Dorthy Rae (Harding Eklund) Scott 57, a 38 year resident of Rochester, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends April 20, 2012 at Providence St. Peter Hospital. She was born on July 3, 1954 in Elma, WA to John and Barbara (Hall) Harding. She spent the first 12 years of her life living at the Elma Fair Grounds and graduated Elma High School in 1972. Dot married Mac Eklund of Rochester, WA in 1973 and together they had two children Kristi and Jeff Eklund. In 2005, she married Robert Scott of Rochester, WA. She worked at Oakhurst,Swecker, Steelhammer and Seapack fish farms, Speedway Grocery and The Chronicle. Dorthy also spent a great deal of time as a homemaker. Dot was a huge fan of car racing since childhood and she spent a lot of time at Elma and South Sound Speedway, as well as any demolition derby. She enjoyed camping, spending time with family and her pug and watching American Idol and The Price is Right. She is survived by her mother, Barbara Harding of Satsop; husband, Robert Scott of Centralia; twin sister, Debra Collins of Elma; brother Jerry Harding (Pam) of Satsop; her daughter, Kristi Curtis (Ray) of Olympia; her son, Jeff Eklund of Rochester; step-children; Andrew and Justin Scott and Lisa Griffiths; grandchildren; Danielle, Marisa, Laura, Sydnee, Nathaniel and numerous nieces, nephews and step-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her baby, Scooter the pug. Dorthy was preceded in death by her father, John Harding. Memorial will be Friday April, 27th at 2pm and viewing starting at noon. Woodlawn Funeral Home 5930 Mullen RD SE Lacey, WA 98503 and a reception to follow at The Lacey Seventh-Day Adventist Church 5831 Mullen RD SE Lacey, WA.
