U.S. Veteran

Alvin Leroy Zentz, 68, of Lacey, passed away Friday, April 6, 2012 at his home. Alvin was born June 6, 1943 to Raymond Francis and Florence Irene (Harrison) Zentz. Alvin grew up in Manhattan, Kansas. He received his education from St. George High School Graduating in 1961. Following high school Mr. Zentz joined the U.S. Navy. On June 12, 1964 he married his sweetheart Linda Manire. When not at work Alvin yearned for the great outdoors. He loved to fish and Hunt. He always knew where to cast in his line to pull out a fish. He and Linda enjoyed their elk hunting trips even if they didn’t have a tag. Alvin is survived by his wife of 47 years, Linda; four daughters, Jackie Smith (Preston) of Olympia; Tena White (James) of Kimball, NE; Debbie Zentz of Greely, CO; Patty Uranker (Center City, FL); His 11 Grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; Four brothers, Larry, Marvin, both of Kansas, Gary of Iowa and Donald Zentz of Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews. Alvin is preceded in death by Austin Bauer his great grandson; his sister Marilyn Estrum.
